The Kona N joins the ‘N’ family
Hyundai have announced that the Kona N will be the next model to join the N range. The N range of Hyundai models offer excellent performance and uncompromised driving fun.
With an 8 speed dual clutch transmission and 2.0 turbo engine, the Kona N is designed to offer a powerful and nimble driving experience. Equipped with high-performance driving features such as Launch Control, the Kona N will be Hyundai’s first ‘hot SUV’.
The N range will now feature something for every driving specification, from hatchbacks to saloons and shortly an SUV.
Hyundai plans to expand their N range line-up in 2021 with new additions that enhance the driving pleasure for drivers.
The Hyundai N Range
The first model to make the N range line-up was the Hyundai i30N and they have since introduced the i20N, meaning there is something for everyone who wants that additional performance.
The Kona is designed to be the perfect companion for your adventures, with its striking body to the abundance of smart technology. The 8” touchscreen with sat nav is designed to keep you connected on your journeys and the ISOFIX seat belt ports allow for complete peace of mind when travelling with young families.
There is not shortness of driver assist features either, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and safety features that include cruise control, Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Detection. The keyless entry option makes life much easier, especially when carrying heavy or awkward sized items or when loading shopping.
The design of the Hyundai Kona is stylish and sophisticated, with alloy wheels and a roof spoiler as standard.
What does the 'N' stand for across the Hyundai range?
The 'N' in the Hyundai N range is said to derive from a combination between Hyundai's origin, Namyang in South Korea as well as Nürburgring in Germany, which is where the Hyundai N range are tested at Hyundai’s Technical Center.
